The KZNSA announces its new Executive Committee

On 27 September 2012 the AGM of the Members of the KZNSA elected a new Council to represent their interest in the mission and activities of the organization. This new Council gathered last night and elected the new KZNSA Executive Committee members who will be incumbent with the responsibility of steering the future direction of the KZNSA.

The KZNSA has great pleasure in welcoming;

President: Peter McKenzie.

In accepting his nomination Peter paid tribute to the outgoing President, George Thorne. He gave recognition to the role George played in providing sound leadership in a time that could be described as a rubicon in the life of the KZNSA. In particular, Peter indicated that he would be giving impetus to the strategic imperatives established by George, namely transformation , activation and incubation. These imperatives will be the driving forces for all our activities going forward.

First Vice President: Peter Avis.

Peter is an artist by passion and a businessman by profession. He will bring sound business thinking to the deliberations of Exco.

Second Vice President: Coral Bijoux.

Coral is an arts administrator and has extensive experience in funding strategies for NPOs.

Treasurer: Garth Radmore.

This is a re-election for Garth which is a clear expression of confidence by Council in the role he has played in setting down firm and clear guidelines for financial procedures and reporting.

Executive Secretary: Paula Thomson.

Paula is a Projects Manager in the field of crafter development in the NPO sector. She also comes with a passion for marketing and product development. Paula relieves Marianne Meijer who has held this portfolio for two decades and will now take a well-deserved breather as a passionate member of KZNSA Council – big shoes for Paula to fill.

The real work of Council is brought about by a number of sub-committees who develop the strategies for implementation by the staff of the KZNSA. The committees going forward are:-
