Following our festive season superstore ‘BuzzArt’ and the unapologetic bling of the opening of the annual KZNSA members exhibition ‘RED’, the Gallery turned its attention to a more sombre concern – the HIV and AIDS pandemic.
Tuesday evening saw an unprecedented number of Durban art lovers who arrived in waves up the red carpet (and suitably dressed) for the opening of the annual KZNSA Members’ exhibition.
Over 300 guests braved the snowy chill, among them 60 women resident at Thokoza Hostel who had come to view ‘LOCATION’ Angela Buckland’s new photographic installation.
The Gallery invited Carol Brown to offer her insights to our guests at Tuesdays opening. Her characteristic ability to unpack complex issues and challenges in a clear and meaningful way had the viewers captivated. This is what she had to say.
The exhibition opening of RECOLLECT was the much anticipated ‘big reveal’ of a solo exhibition by Hendrik Stroebel, which has been 17 years in the making.
